Authorized Reinsurers
Authorized reinsures must meet and maintain compliance with the guidelines for registration under North Carolina General Statute 58-7-21(b)(3) or 58-7-21(b)(4).
Filing a Registration Application
To request registration as an authorized reinsurer pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 58-7-21(b)(3) a company must:
- Submit the Authorized Reinsurer Registration Application Pursuant to G.S. 58-7-21(b)(3).
- Submit a copy of its most recent annual and quarterly statements.
To request registration as an authorized reinsurer pursuant to North Carolina General Statute 58-7-21(b)(4) a company must:
- Submit the Authorized Reinsurer Registration Application Pursuant to G.S. 58-7-21(b)(4).
- Submit a copy of its most recent annual and quarterly statements, in a form substantially similar to the NAIC blank.
- Submit a copy of the Deed of Trust, along with a certification by the appropriate regulator that all applicable documents have been approved.
- Submit trust certification presenting the valuation of the trust fund.
- Submit a Certificate of Loss Reserves as of the most recent year-end.
Renewal Application
Every authorized reinsurer that is registered in North Carolina must submit a renewal application by March 1 each year in order to retain registration.
