Statistical Organizations
Information, Credentials and Fees Required by NCGS 58-6-7, 58-36-4, and 58-40-50
In order to grant authorization for your Statistical Organization for your organization(s), we need for each:
- A copy of your organization’s constitution, charter, articles of organization agreement, association or incorporation; and
- a copy of your organization’s bylaws, plan of operation, and any other rules or regulations governing the conduct of its business, all duly certified by the custodian of the originals thereof; and
- a list of the companies which:
- are members and subscribers of your organization; or
- rely upon your organization for rates, forms or statistics; or
- utilize statistical data compiled or furnished by your organization for developing rate filings; and
- the name and address of a resident of this State upon whom notices, process affecting it, or orders of the Commissioner may be served;
- a statement showing the technical qualifications for acting in the capacity for which your organization seeks a license;
- a copy of your organization’s statistical plan for each line of insurance for which the organization is authorized in this State.
- your check for $2500.
All of the above information must be received in the Department prior to March 1. In addition, all members and subscribers to your organization must be licensed in North Carolina.

In order to grant or renew authorization for your Joint Underwriting and Joint Reinsurance Organization, we need:
- a copy of your organization's constitution, articles of organization, agreement, association or incorporation;
- a list of its members; and
- the name and address of a resident of this State upon whom notices, process affecting it, or orders of the Commissioner may be served;
- a check for $2500 (see NCGS 58-6-7) for the annual license fee.
All of the above information must be received in the department prior to March 1. In addition, all members and subscribers must be licensed in North Carolina.
