In recognition of 2020 National Burn Awareness Week, which runs Feb. 2-8, Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Causey reminds residents of the causes of burn injuries and the resources of burn care available.

As this weekend’s temperatures climb into the 90s, Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey and Safe Kids North Carolina are reminding people of the dangers of leaving children unattended in hot cars, even for just a few minutes.

As the summer swimming season kicks into full gear, Safe Kids North Carolina, a statewide program housed within the North Carolina Department of Insurance and Office of State Fire Marshal, is reminding parents and caregivers about important safety tips to reduce child drownings.

This week marks Safe Kids: Playground Safety Awareness Week and North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey wants to ensure children in North Carolina stay safe now and throughout the summer.

It’s Youth Sports Safety Month and North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has some sports safety tips to ensure parents, coaches, and kids are well educated on the safest practices.

RALEIGH– As we prepare to watch Super Bowl LIV on Feb. 2, Insurance Commissioner and Safe Kids NC Chair Mike Causey encourages families to conduct a quick television safety check to ensure they enjoy the game safely and without worry.

Safe Kids NC is partnering with Safe Kids Worldwide and the Consumer Electronics Association to promote National TV Safety Day as a means of preventing childhood deaths and injuries because of televisions that tip over.

We all know school zones can be unsafe places for students, but a recent research study from Safe Kids Worldwide confirms there is a problem at school zones across the U.S.
