With colder weather setting in across North Carolina, Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Causey urges families to exercise fire safety when it comes to heating their homes.

In recognition of 2018 Fire Prevention Week which runs from Oct. 7-13, Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Causey is urging everyone to uphold this year’s campaign theme, “Look. Listen. Learn. Be aware. Fire can happen anywhere.”

In the wake of Hurricane Florence, Insurance Commissioner and Safe Kids NC Chairman Mike Causey is partnering with several agencies to host a statewide initiative to help parents and children in communities affected by flooding.

A pediatric emergency room doctor from Duke University Medical Center and state officials appealed to parents, grandparents and child care-givers to make sure children are properly restrained when they get into a car.

In recognition of Falls Prevention Awareness Week in North Carolina, which runs from September 24-29, 2018, Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Mike Causey wants to remind the public about the seriousness of falls and ways to reduce fall risk.
