North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has named David Yetter as deputy commissioner and chief actuary of the North Carolina Department of Insurance, effective immediately.
Yetter joined the department in May 2018 as an actuary in the Actuarial Services Division.
“I am proud to appoint David to this role, due to his level of expertise and many years of experience, both with the department and in private industry,” Commissioner Causey said. “I know he will continue to maintain the high level of professionalism found in the division.”
A native of Oklahoma City, Yetter graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics. Yetter has more than 25 years of combined government and private sector experience in the insurance industry and is a member of the Society of Actuaries and American Academy of Actuaries.
Yetter replaces Rick Kohan, who retired on March 1.
The Actuarial Services Division assists in the review of rate, form and statistical filings, and conducts actuarial studies for financial analysis and financial evaluation of regulated companies.
