North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has announced that Victim Assistance Centers (VACs) will be open in Spindale and Arden next week to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene.

A VAC will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Spindale House, 119 Tanner St, Spindale, N.C. 28160.

A second VAC will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, and Thursday, Oct. 17, at The Radiant Church, 3839 Sweeten Creek Road, Arden, N.C. 28704

“These Victim Assistance Centers are crucial to help us reach people in need directly,” Commissioner Causey said. “We will continue to operate these VACs in the coming days and weeks to provide valuable resources and support to storm victims. NCDOI staff members will be on hand to offer their expertise and assistance to the public.”

NCDOI is currently coordinating with law enforcement agencies, emergency management, fire departments, rescue squads, charities, churches and civic groups to assist victims. NCDOI will continue to host future events to assist with insurance claims for those affected.
