Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey to announce new insurance rating for Statesville Fire Department on Monday

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey, who also serves as the State Fire Marshal, will announce new insurance ratings for the Statesville Fire Department on Monday, Jan 9.

The announcements will take place at 6 p.m. at the Statesville City Hall, 227 S. Center St., Statesville, N.C. 28677.

The Statesville Fire Department recently underwent an inspection by the Office of State Fire Marshal. A fire department’s rating affects homeowners’ and business insurance premiums and helps signal how prepared firefighters are at responding to calls and battling blazes in their fire districts.

The new ratings will become effective for insurance policies on April 1.
