North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Tasia Tia Teacuqadae Glover, 35, of 1215 Cliffwood Drive, Greensboro. Glover was charged with insurance fraud and attempting to obtain property by false pretense, both felonies.
Special agents with the Department of Insurance’s Criminal Investigations Division accuse Glover of falsely telling Discovery Insurance Co. that she was a victim of a hit-and-run crash in an attempt to collect on an insurance claim.
According to the arrest warrant, Piedmont Triad International Airport police discovered that Glover caused the damage to her vehicle.
The offenses occurred between Sept. 27 and Oct. 6.
Special agents and Greensboro police arrested Glover on Nov. 18. She was released on a written promise to appear in court. She is scheduled to appear in Guilford County District Court on Jan. 13, 2022.
“Insurance fraud is not a victimless crime; we all pay for it through higher insurance premiums,” said Commissioner Causey. “Help us keep insurance premiums low by reporting suspected fraud.”
