North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey will make stops at Robeson County insurance agencies and fire stations on Monday, Aug. 17, presenting grant checks along the way.
During a stop at the Robeson County Emergency Management Center, Commissioner Causey will present ceremonial matching grant checks to 18 local volunteer fire departments.
In addition, representatives from the East Arcadia Volunteer Fire Department will be on hand to receive a grant check from Blue Cross Blue Shield NC. Commissioner Causey will also present ceremonial matching grant checks to two other volunteer fire departments during stops at their stations later in the day. The matching grants for Robeson County fire departments total more than $360,000
While meeting with firefighters, Commissioner Causey will listen to their concerns and discuss efforts to improve volunteer recruitment and retention.
During stops at insurance agencies, Commissioner Causey will listen to agents’ concerns and ideas and discuss his efforts to modernize the industry in North Carolina.
