Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Cinseason McNeil, 34, of 108 Deepwood Circle, Garner, and Johnathan William Yates, 30, of 1220 Clear Water Springs Drive, Lot 154, Raleigh; both are charged with one count each of insurance fraud and felony conspiracy.

Department of Insurance criminal investigators accuse McNeil and Yates of planning and staging an automobile accident to receive insurance payments from Repwest Insurance Company for damaged property and bodily injury. Investigators allege McNeil and Yates conspired with Patricia Montague, Terrance Daniel, Wauddell Robinson, Yashika Robinson and Kevin Tew.

McNeil was arrested on April 14 in Wake County with assistance from the Raleigh Police Department and placed under a $25,000 bond. Yates was arrested on April 19 in Wake County with assistance from the Wake County Sheriff's Office and placed under a $2,500 bond.

"According to the FBI, insurance fraud costs the average family between $400 and $700 per year in the form of increased premiums," said Commissioner Causey. "Consumer protection is my number one priority and I will continue to fight insurance fraud with your help."
