Pinehurst Woman Accused of Insurance Fraud

Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Jennifer Gosseck Arriola, 35, of 2610 Longleaf Drive, Pinehurst; she is charged with one count of insurance fraud.

Department of Insurance criminal investigators accuse Arriola of presenting a fraudulent statement to United Services Automobile Association regarding her automobile accident on Jan. 7, 2017. Investigators allege Arriola purchased full coverage on her automobile after the accident occurred.

Arriola was arrested on March 1 in Moore County with assistance from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office and placed under a $1,000 bond.

An estimated 10 cents of every dollar paid in premiums goes toward the payment of fraudulent claims. The Department of Insurance employs 20 sworn state law enforcement officers dedicated to investigating and prosecuting claims of insurance and bail bonding fraud.
