Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey today announced the arrest of Renaldo Andrado Langley, 41, of 1313 Glencastle Way, Raleigh; he is charged with one count of felonious restraint.

Department of Insurance criminal investigators accuse Langley, a licensed bail bondsman, of restraining and moving a victim in a motor vehicle from one place to another without their consent. Investigators allege Langley was transporting the victim from her place of employment to the Wake County Detention Center.

Langley was arrested on Feb. 5 in Wake County and placed under a $10,000 bond.

An estimated 10 cents of every dollar paid in premiums goes toward the payment of fraudulent claims. The Department of Insurance employs 20 sworn state law enforcement officers dedicated to investigating and prosecuting claims of insurance and bail bonding fraud.
