21-B-08 - Extra Prescriptions During a State of Emergency or Disaster

On August 18, 2021 Governor Cooper issued EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 227, for the State of North Carolina due to remnants of Tropical Storm Fred (“Tropical Storm”) impact on the State of North Carolina. The impact from the Tropical Storm has resulted in extensive damage, including widespread power outages throughout the state. This bulletin is to remind health benefit plans of compliance requirements for operations under a state of emergency for purposes of obtaining extra prescriptions during a state of emergency or disaster.
